When buying a leasehold property you can choose your carpets, curtains, furniture and decorate it to your personal tastes. However, you cannot choose how the internal and external communal areas look and feel, which can be a big part of why you decide to live in a particular building in the first place. This is largely due to being unable to choose your managing agent and if you feel your apartment block is not being looked after to your expectations it can be very frustrating.
